Giornale di Sicilia - Etioca Taxi Miner
Etioca Taxi Miner, the green revolution of public cars
The one presented by Etioca Holding, an international company based in Gibraltar, is an innovative business model, at the same time as the unveiling of the definitive prototype, as it is running, of Etioca Taxi Miner, developed and built by Coggiola in Turin. The historic coachbuilder (author, among other things, of a famous working prototype of a taxi for Volvo) was recently acquired by Etioca Holding which, together with the company’s systems and know-how, has also become the holder of the WMI license (Worldwide Manufacturers Identifier) which allows the unlimited production of a wide range of vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles). The novelty of the Etioca Taxi project, explains Roberto Fiorello, co-CEO of the company, “lies in the possibility of completely transforming the business of public cars, largely managed by owners. Miner, which is a 100% innovative and fully electric vehicle, will not be sold but made available to the driver according to a professional pay-per-use scheme. We have assumed, for the 4-year contract, an average European price of 0.99 euros / km which includes the vehicle and the Etioca services without any advance payment ”. By using Miner Etioca Taxi, it is evident, the negative aspects and risks of owning the vehicle are eliminated, since the company takes care of everything, including the supply of the always-charged battery, which is replaced with a robotic system. The user will be constantly connected with the dedicated, highly technological Etioca App, which also allows passengers to book short and long-haul trips. The App will inform drivers about bookings and allow them to supervise the workflow. This is a tool that allows taxi drivers to concentrate on their work without other stress and to make as many trips as possible a day. In addition, underlines Etioca, taxi drivers will be able to add to the revenues of the rides, even those of on-board services and advertising panels, increasing their turnover. Etioca Miner will be the first model born on the ‘Anna’ platform which is based on a modular electrical architecture that allows different vehicle configurations. In the near future - explain to Etioca - Anna “will give life to a new range of service vehicles in addition to taxis, such as work vehicles, school shuttles, emergency vehicles and safety vehicles (firefighters and police).
