The taxi of the future

Dario Negri

Etioca, with a project that in a certain way takes the direction indicated by Rinspeed’s research, goes further and presents its modular electric taxi which also wants to be an economic model, a sort of “ecosystem” that generates a sustainable economic growth among the various partners (industrial design, services, fintech, media). Miner, this is the name of the vehicle, cannot be purchased: the holder of the taxi license will in fact be able to obtain it in use from Etioca at a cost of 0.99 cents per km, an estimated average European cost. The Israeli entrepreneur and CEO of Etioca Mark Ishakov started with the acquisition of the historic Italian body shop Coggiola, thus guaranteeing himself the precious builder’s license. Then, with the help of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro Etioca, she focused on the creation of the “ANNA” platform (so called the multiservice base of the vehicle that can be transformed from a taxi into a vehicle for the public force or for firefighters, for example ). The user, through a dedicated app, can book short and long-haul trips. Furthermore, the vehicle will be able to monitor a whole series of parameters up to the management of the taxi driver’s activity. By 2024, Etioca expects to have 10,000 Miners on the road. Mark Ishakov states “We intend to drive cultural and social change towards sustainable mobility, offering solutions that protect the environment and increase the quality of life of future generations”.
