Etioca Miner, the electric taxi of the future: without architectural barriers, digital screens and minibars

by Daniela Solito

Etioca Miner, the electric taxi of the future: without architectural barriers, digital screens and minibars The first 10 thousand Etioca taxis will be in circulation by the end of 2024. The annual production in 2025 will be 45 thousand units and will reach 100 thousand units in 2027.

An electric and innovative taxi, with various services inside such as a minibar, digital screens and chargers for smartphones. Miner, the first prototype of di Etioca taxi, was presented in Milan in the Superstudio Più spaces - in a city that aims to be more and more sustainable - Miner. Designed and built in the Coggiola workshops, a historic Turin body shop, by the international company based in Gibraltar (in fact Etioca), it is a revolutionary multiservice electric taxi, with a futuristic design by Giugiaro. First of the ‘Anna’ generation, a platform based on a modular architecture that allows different vehicle configurations, it is aimed at taxi drivers who no longer have to buy the car, but receive it in use by paying only the real mileage of the route.

The new electric taxi is an easily accessible vehicle, without architectural barriers: it has seven modular seats, plus one for disabled passengers who can board without assistance, through an automatic lifting platform. The size of the taxi also allows you to carry oversized items such as bicycles, skis and snowboards. On board you can take advantage of various services such as a minibar, chargers for all types of smartphones, an online route map, digital screens for managing services, a payment terminal and a taxi shop.

The driver’s seat is insulated to ensure safety and security. Each vehicle is automatically sanitized when passengers leave the cabin, through a mixed system of ultraviolet light and disinfectant nebulizer. The user is constantly connected with an application that allows passengers to book short and long haul trips. The app informs drivers about bookings and allows them to supervise the workflow - a tool that allows taxi drivers to focus on work and driving without any other stress.

The first 10 thousand Etioca taxis will be in circulation by the end of 2024. The annual production in 2025 will be 45 thousand units and will reach 100 thousand units in 2027. “The Etioca ecosystem has the foundations to guide the transition towards electric mobility at the service of urban communities of the future that aim to reduce emissions and traffic in cities, introducing sustainable, functional and shared vehicles “, explains Mark Ishakov, founder and CEO of Etioca. A project that therefore aims to improve travel experiences for drivers and passengers, while respecting the environment thanks to the use of new technologies.
