Etioca Miner - The prototype of the robotaxi of tomorrow

A new electric vehicle designed not for private mobility, but to meet the needs of all those who work with cars to transport passengers or offer public utility services. Miner is the name of the first running prototype presented today in Milan by Etioca, a company founded by the Israeli entrepreneur Mark Ishakov based in Gibraltar, but who found the roots in the Bel Paese to transform the prototype into a mass-produced vehicle to be mass produced. ladder. In recent months, Etioca has, in fact, purchased the Turin bodyshop Coggiola, thus becoming the holder of the WMI (Wordwide Manufacturer Identifier) license.

As did.
Made with the advice of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, Etioca Miner is a taxi about 4.9 meters long built on a modular electric platform. It is capable of accommodating up to seven passengers and is equipped with multiple unique features to simplify the driver’s work and offer greater comfort and accessibility to all those who take a taxi, including people with reduced mobility: the considerable height, the square shapes and the limited threshold from the ground, combined with an electrically operated platform, allow even those in wheelchairs to board the taxi in complete autonomy, while the separate driver’s cabin guarantees greater safety for the driver, for example during shifts night work. The modular seat configuration, with single seats inspired by the aeronautical world, allows you to adapt the taxi to different uses, the same applies to the implementation of the battery pack that can be recharged from home or from public columns as for all the other Evs. but which can also be removed from the car and replaced in a few minutes with one already loaded to minimize vehicle downtime.

How much does it cost.
The technical characteristics of the prototype are combined with the distribution model and the collateral services to taxi transport that Etioca intends to offer to taxi drivers and consumers. Once in production, Etioca Miner will not be offered for sale with a list price, but will be offered for use to licensed taxi drivers with a fee - at the moment indicative, the result of a European average - of 0.99 cents per kilometer ( excluded taxes). Cost that not only includes the rental of the vehicle (without advance) but also includes insurance, recharging and washing. To this profit, the men of Etioca want to add that linked to advertising, with the use of large LED displays inside and on the roof of the vehicle and the extras offered to customers such as the availability of snacks and drinks and additional products for sale. depending on the markets, profits in which the taxi driver participates to varying degrees. A single app for taxi drivers and customers will allow you to manage all bookings and payments, even in cryptocurrencies.

Plans for the future.
According to the roadmap established by Etioca, the development of the production model and the entry into production could already take place in the course of 2024, thanks to the support of numerous international companies that are financing the project and the growing number of pre-orders of the vehicle that today, according to the company, they would already reach 90,000 units. Particular support for the Etioca holding was expressed by the government of Gibraltar which included the project in the 500 million pound national economic development plan for the next five years. The investment bank Chardan also collaborates in the financial development of the startup, which is evaluating its listing on the stock exchange.
